In general, Yang (+) symbolises active, strong, male and positive elements while Yin (-) symbolises passive, weak, female, fragile and negative elements.
The purpose of dividing elements into Yin and Yang is distinguished between the stronger and weaker characters. It is wrong to assume that Yang is better than Yin. Harmoney and balance must be well-maintained between these two integral forces.For example, Yang Water is often compared to water in the sea whereas Yin Water usually refers to droplets of morning dew. Yang Wood is often compared to a tall and thick forest tree whereas Yin Wood is likened to tree branches and flower stems.
